If you get a chance, take the drive due north from Sedona toward Grand Canyon, on Highway 89. Weather permitting, you’ll want to ride with the top down! Sedona is a wonderful place of spirtual healing and renewal.
Correction, thats Alt. 89 toward Flagstaff. Only need to go about 15 miles or so. Enjoy.

First of all, you have to love anyone who would shower under a watering can, and think it was enjoyable! Second, nice photo! A rainbow is a sign of a new beginning. Of course you will still have the smelly dogs and chatty bird! I have live in Atlanta for 15 years and still don’t have it on my top five places I have lived. From what I see you loved the area and had a great job. I know, a job is a job. My advise, stop often on your travels and enjoy the moments! The dogs need to stretch!

Dagmar, your bright smile will not fade from my memory. You brought a quality to the weather report which I have not seen in my 40 years in broadcasting. It was not until your departure that I learned of the personal tragedy you’ve been suffering. I shall keep you in my prayers. As a side note, I should have guessed such a beauty came from one of my favorite cities. I spent a year in Vancouver, where I designed the tech facilities for CKVU-TV, which became Citytv Vancouver. Great city, great people.

We both grew up in California and originally met in 1971 in Thousand Oaks. After 38 years of marriage and 24 years with the Air Force living all over the world we have now settled near Lake Chatuge in North Carolina. It’s wonderful to know that you’re on the way to a new life. Even though I wasn’t in a position to watch CBS 46 live, I never failed to log onto their website at 4:00 PM daily. Hope those of us not where you’ll live will be able to see you again somehow.
I want to let you know how badly I felt when I found out why you left Georgia (not a local, and didn’t know about your guy until your goodbye message). That’s really rough, and for an obviously sensitive lady such as yourself, unthinkable.
I don’t want this to sound like a love letter (I’m old enough to be your father) but in a sense, it is. The sight (and sound, lovely voice and laught) made my day, no matter how rotten, every single day. Life has been pretty dreary the last 6 weeks, and the thought that we might see you again in any distant way is very uplifting. You are honestly the loveliest woman I’ve seen in my 66 years (and my own wife is no slouch, believe me) and you seem to be a genuinely nice person as well.
I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do, but I sure do hope it’s somehow publicly visible.

I finally turned on the Channel 46 news last night and found the “replacement” they hired for you… I won’t be going back.
Things appeared to have started to go downhill the last few months that you were there. Adding “Gomer” Martinez (like you needed back-up or some such), replacing Kim… I guess they just forgot who their target audience was. I hope that that didn’t add to the stress you were feeling.
Ah, well. Done is done.
If I could ask one favor, tell the quakes for me that I don’t miss ‘em at all, but I sure do miss the ocean, the mountains and, especially, the desert. I spent the first eighteen years of my life knocking around out there and I do miss it so. And, if you would, while you’re at it, if you happen to pass by Williams Lake look up at the poles along side the road. I made some of those snow depth marks many years ago. You’ll have to look up high; it was pretty deep.
Well, good luck in all you do. I have an idea that whatever it is that you decide to do you will land on your feet (or, at least come up swinging).

When I read the story this morning and realized your love for animals, I thought that maybe on your way back to the West Coast, you might stop in at a horse ranch or farm in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana or anywhere in between and possibly stay on as a hired hand, I’m sure there will be plenty of work which will benefit the body and plenty of love from the animals for the soul.

I’m so sorry to hear the rumor of your leaving is true. However, after reading the post I certainly understand and wish you all the best. You’ve been fun to watch, a good sport on many levels, and a big lift to various causes around the city!

You were the hi-lite of my evenings. I waited everynight for you to do the weather for us. Your calm, even delivery were a joy to watch and listen to.
We all suffer losses in our lives – some minor, some major, but we must cope with those losses and move forward.
I have lost both my parents, Aunts, Uncles and my “Relative Bank” is running on empty. Each loss was no less tragic than the last, but I give thanks everyday that I still have my health and keep on “Truckin’ on”.
Eventually the pain will lessen with each passing day and I found that work was the best medicine for grief.
So PLEASE reconsider your choice to leave. We enjoy you so much….

Dagmar, I know I don’t know you personally, but you seem like a geniune great person. God has given you gifts of beauty, intelligence, and charisma. In life God also lets things happen that challenge us and makes us into different people. I understand your need to get away from Atlanta. I hope and pray your new start will be exactly what you need. I also hope and pray that I will continue to hear and see you in the future.
Dear Dagmar, our family is keeping you in our prayers. We are so sorry for your loss and we understand your needing to get away from the painful reminders. We had a similar situation with a close loss in our own family. We know that you will be missed greatly by the people and animals of Atlanta, but that you will be a blessing everywhere you go. Dear Miss Dagmar, I agree with Steve above. I understand why you feel you must go, but work & the passing of time are the only relief for that kinda pain. I liked you when I 1st saw you, I loved you when you came to Dawsonville & literally put us on the map, the weather map that is. We appreciate Jennifer for keeping us there. We by & (I mean everyone in your viewing area) no means feel the pain you feel, however a whole viewing area is grieving the loss of our Dagmar. In that We’ll miss you & now that we know what’s happened, we grieve for you & the pain you are experiencing. Not many people in the world have 3 million people for a support system. Especially in one town. Your voice is so soothing as well as reassuring to listen to. I loved it when you would do car & drivers job for them & drive an automobile & give your opinion about it. I will miss you on tv and your billboard pics. I had no idea, up until early this week, of the issues that you have faced in the last 14 months–but being near family is very likely the best thing that you can do for yourself at this time.
I noted on an Auburn Football message board that prior to retirement in late 2009, I drove across downtown Atlanta between Newnan and Alpharetta for several years and that your billboard pictures during the last few were the only thing that made that ordeal bearable.
I wish you peace in dealing with your loss and happiness in your future ventures.

My heart goes out to you..
I do understand your pain and want you to know… although we will miss your cheery nightly weather report you are doing the right thing for yourself and your healing. I moved to Georgia 6 years ago two years after the sudden (car accident) death of my 20 year old son. The first year I was numb.. which is a blessing. The second year when the pain was not muffled by shock the reality set in that he was not coming home was too much to bear.. seeing his room untouched for a year….everywhere there were memories.
We decided to just pack up and move to Georgia… there was no plans.. no job lined up…we just went for it. I have to tell you it saved my sanity. As much as I think of him everyday and miss him more than words can express not having the constant visual memories of our lives together is the best decision I made in my own healing. Your loved one’s live forever in your heart and want you to do what you need to do to heal.
I promise it will get easier…….in time.
I am very sorry for your loss. I can appriciate your decision to leave the place of your hurt behind. I commend the brave face, and constant smile you have shown us through all your hurt. Please know that you will not be far from my thoughts and prayers. We have to take these awful things in life and learn from them to turn them into good. It gives us a sensitivity towards people and their sufferings. It gives us insight into who we are and into the motives of people. We learn more about ourselves in the storm than we can when skies are clear and sunny. Agonizing as the lesson is to learn maybe with the wisdom and insight gained the lesson becomes worth the pain and heartache. And we can use this as motivation to make the world a more loving place by connecting with people in a real way. Seasons change just like our lives are constantly rearranged but the skies will always be sunny again

Words cannot express the void that was left in the hearts of Atlantans when you left CBS. Your love for nature, the beautiful descriptions of sunsets,your smiling face, your weather forecasts included hints about what to wear, and what to watch out for- – - you cared! My heart aches for what you have been through, and I can surely understand your reasoning for leaving. Just know that we will never forget you. I know that you will be in my prayers for sure! My heart goes out to you Dagmar, I lost 2 best friends but not a spouse. I am going to miss you on the weather, your spirit is so playful and joyful. I can’t count the # of times my mom & I commented on how fun you were to watch! At least at this point you know what steps you need to take next. I actually left LA to come here, although I am 2nd guessing that one. Where ever you go, your smile will shine a light so bright through the hearts of everyone in your path. Thank you for giving me many joyous moments in a time, and place, that also hasn’t been exactly good for me either. Live each day to the fullest, laugh, eat some cookies, and love. Don’t forget to learn how 2 have fun! ;p
I’m very sad for you. I don’t know what to say but perhaps picking grapefruits would be a good idea for now? It takes three years or so to start seeing things normally again unless you have a black heart which is not you.

Dagmar, you have been one of our favorite TV personalities, my wife and I both enjoyed seeing you every evening, and will miss you greatly.
I know you have to follow your heart, and I agree with you, otherwise your emotions will drive you crazy. Everybody will be telling you exactly what you need to do or what you need, all I can say is you know best so do whatever you need to.

Hi Dagmar. My family became acquainted with you when we relocated to Atlanta this past March and we turned on the news to your smiling face. You had the sunniest disposition we had ever seen and we just fell in love with you. We will miss you, but please take care of yourself. I believe that God and time will eventually heal all wounds. Know that your “fans” are pulling for you and we look forward to seeing your sparkling face again at some time in the future.
Dagmar, sorry for your loss, you will be fine, you always made me smile. I lost my wife, my love, 5 years ago and she was my salvation after many years alone (Vietnem does strange things to people). I did not know how to keep going, but my Siberian Husk kept me on track I know tou love animals and, hey try one, they are love personified. Be safe and well, Michael.
I looked forward each day @ 4:00 to see you and your reports. I have been away from CBS and did not watch it much until the past year. For the past few weeks I thought you were on vacation and today decided to go on line to see if I could find out what was going on. I was away on a cruise to Alaska and just returned and learned of your departure.
I certainly understand your decision and am very sorry that this tragic event has entered into your life.
I always admired your professionalism and your energetic attitude during the weather reports along with your good looks. You should have no problem finding work out there with your vibrant personality.

Dagmar, I didn’t realize that you had moved. I kept thinking you were on a leave of absence or something. Finally I decided to search for you online. You made the best decision for you, and I applaud that.
However, I just want to say that you were always like a beacon of light on the Atlanta news. Someone that joyful can’t help but infect those watching you. The West Coast is fortunate to have your positive energy in their midst.
My wife and I have been in Washington D.C. acting as hospice caregivers for my mother who recently passed away from an aggressive malignant brain tumor. Upon our return to Atlanta we were surprised you were not appearing on channel 46 any longer. Unfortunately, we just today learned the reasons for your absence; we wish you well, joy and peace. You were a regular member of our evenings for several years and will be remembered. You were a positive force and we shared your love of animals. Best regards.

After watching the news, and the weather, tonight, I got to wondering once again about what in the world happened to Dagmar. I’m so sorry about your loss. I can definitely understand your need to leave Atlanta.
I want to share with you just how much we enjoyed watching you on TV here in Atlanta. Strangely, it felt like you were one of the family. It didn’t start out that way. When you first started doing the weather here, I made the comment that I didn’t like you because you were just so darn cheery, it couldn’t possibly be real…and who names there child Dagmar anyway!..lol But you won me over once I realized what a truly genuine person you were.

The only event that was worst than Dagmar announcing her leaving Atlanta on Sept.3,2010 was when Gen. Sherman telegraphed Washington on Sept.3 1864 that he had captured and burned Atlanta during the Civil War.Since I was born in Atlanta I have some sympathy.

so true Dagmar. this planet,and EVERYTHING in it,including ourseleves and all creatures great and small was intrusted to us to care for. and sadly for the most part we have failed miserably. VERY SAD.
Very true… People have become so selfish and short-sighted, they fail to see the bigger picture. You can plan another vacation, another destination, but the impact of this spill is greater than some tarnished beaches.
So true, I’ve had to recluse myself from the news a lot lately becuz it’s just too much for me. It’s either I go write some music & vent, or I go down to the Gulf & beat up Tony Hayward!
