Tweet …3 more reasons I love living near the waters’ edge in San Diego.
Having grown up in a small town in Georgia nowhere near the ocean, I decided to follow a dream. I loaded up my vehicle and drove to Hermosa Beach, California. It was December and I couldn’t believe I could take off my shoes and walk in the sand and water without freezing. I had never been to California or seen the Pacific ocean before that point. You’ve found a wonderful home.
Beautiful………….we still greatly miss you here in Atlanta….
thank you for the update on your blog. we are as bad as you are about pets! 3 dogs and 3 cats. All crazy ! But all well loved.
We no longer go into a petsmart on saturday morning. It is to hard to leave without another.
Dagmar
First of all I will never see a name like yours again, truly a one of a kind, and it fits you well.
Welcome to San Diego. It looks like you are blending in to this comunity. I enjoy your weather forcast.
I just thought every weather person flipped a coin in S.D. Just Kidding (Cali Humor you’ll get use to it.)
Best Wishes to your falmily for this Chistmas Season
Tom
Hi Dagmar
I travel from Atlanta to San Diego at least once a year and often visit Del Mar and Oceanside beaches. Maybe i’ll see you one day out there with your dogs….
P.S. Tell that news anchor of yours to quit calling you “Dag.” Your name is Dagmar.

Snapped this picture on my way to work last week. 4 construction workers huddled together, towering over the palm tree lined shores of Del Mar as they worked to prepare metal scaffolding for several layers of Christmas Tree ornamentation.

Very nice pic. I have a feeling Christmas in San Diego will be very different than your previous Christmases. Welcome to SD….You’re make it worth watching the weather!

I thought I already made a comment here, but I don’t see it. Welcome to San Diego Dagmar. You make watching the weather–usually a pretty boring time here in SD–a pleasure.

This was the shot from beside the basin for the WWII Carrier Midway facing San Diego Bay during the America’s Cup during my first live hit for NBC 7 on November 17th.

I’d bet anything my dad flew over that ship many times during the war. He was stationed on Tinian island in The Pacific (not too far from Midway) where his B-29 crew flew 35 missions to Japan.
Watching you give the weather induced my perusing through your web-site. Listed are my quick thoughts as a list of things about you: expansive, higher order, multi-talented, popular, seeker of adventure, carefully dangerous, and 30 other things.
You intrique me. I am a teacher in National City, 3rd grade. If you are available as a single woman, I’d enjoy walking with you and your dogs on the beach. I am not rich nor the most handsome, but I am funny and a Texas gentleman.

Tweet During the Oscars I had the chance to see LA from a bird’s eye view. The thrill refreshed a dream I’ve had since I was a little girl…to fly my own aircraft…and I took my first helicopter lesson last week! The pilot and I spent two hours quite literally going over the nuts and...

Hey I was wondering what the big white dome building is? I don’t know much about L.A. sorry, thanks Chuck by the way GREAT pics and we miss you here in Atlanta
Amazing photos!
I love flying helicopters Dagmar I liken the experience as the difference of driving a car and riding a motorcycle, and you do, that is the diffrence between a flying a helicopter and a flying a fixed wing aircraft. Keep going.
Whew! I was worried that your dream was to take after captain Herb and become a snake handling traffic reporter…
@Chuck, it’s the Griffith Observatory.
Wow, nice shots! I moved to Georgia from L.A. when I was thirteen, these pictures sure do bring back the memories. Especially the Griffith Observatory, went there on a field
trip in school. Sure do miss being able to go to the mountains
and the beach in the same day!
Wow! Dagmar, I am so proud of you.
Calfornia is so beautiful where you are.
Enjoy it Dagmar. Keep us inform we all love to
Hear from you. I Love you Dagmar! Keep up
The good work. I can’t believe my favorite weather
Reporter flying in a helicopter . Cool
Wow,
That is amazing. Did not realize that the mountains were that close to L.A.
Enjoyed the pics.
Yes, several shots are the beautifully refurbished Griffith Observatory…such a treat to visit if you’re an astronomy geek like me! One of the lake shots is from the location where The Andy Griffith Show was filmed. Remember the opening scene?…filmed on those shores and along that road.
OMG so jealous, I have always wanted to fly a helicopter. But, I don’t like heights.
Nice shots. which canon are you using?
Thanks! Using a Nikon D-5000 with 28-200mm lens.
So, do you think you have found your new career? A flying weather reporter? Sure do miss you in Atlanta. Your personality on the air was tops.
Dennis

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had close to the samething

Wow, nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.
It’s great you are able to do the things you love.
Dagmar, I fell in love with you when I moved from CA to N.GA. My first love in life was to fly ‘rotorcraft’. I realized my dream in the Army during the early 70′s. Funny thing about shared dreams. Robinson was just a small co when I thought about buying the R22. 80k was too much at the time. Wish I had bought one then. Have fun!
Great camera and wonderful shots.

Dagmar,
Here is an article on Betty Ford, who died recently, on who she was before, during, and after the Presidential days. She was a remarkable lady who had to find herself again. I found it interesting. Hope you do…

The weeds in my yard are higher than my head. The dishes in my sink are piled up high. My air conditioning quit working. They turned off my gas the other day because I’m behind on my bills. I’ve got a big mess to clean up in my whole house. My mom turns 80 tomorrow and I didn’t send her anything (but I will call her and have a nice long call). Our company hasn’t had a decent contract in two years. I’ve been living on unemployment about half of the time. I went on our annual golf trip about a month ago and didn’t even play on Saturday because I was too depressed. (You can verify that with my friend, Tom) And on top of it all, the best and brightest woman in the world, who I care a great deal about, left town about a year ago… and in some small indirect way… I feel partly responsible for what happened to her. I’m having trouble caring about anything. Just trying to perk you up.
I thought I’d try something a little different…
Was stellen sie ins Wasser in Vancouver? Oder ist es ein deutsches Ding? Deutsche Frauen sind stark. Ja, Baby!
Randy
Hey D!
How ya doin Girl? I hope you’re having a better summer than we are in BC…Holy Doodle it feels like October in NW BC!
I hope your are doing well…Miss your updates on FB…and hearing you on TV.
Take Care
John
